Breed Freiberg o Franches-Montagnes

The Freiberg Freiberg mountains or also called as the Swiss region of origin of a horse that was born in the late nineteenth century the result of crosses between the Purebred English, Anglo-Norman and 'Ardennes. This breed is still bred in Switzerland even if they are widespread in Italy and in other European countries. Born as a heavy horse and used in the past in agricultural work, the Freiberg is today much appreciated for its versatility and good character intelligent, willing and patient. Fits well in almost all sports and also in equestrian tourism where it is an excellent companion for hiking in the mountains. The Freiberg is a beautiful horse of good size, muscular, strong and well proportioned, straight profile, strong shoulders and powerful, wide and deep chest, thighs and legs, hooves and strong, almost always uniform coat color bay or chestnut
