Hippotherapy

The hippotherapy or also known as TMC (therapy with half of the horse) is a set of medical techniques that use the horse as a support and aid to human health that has problems in neuro-motor and neuro-psychological. It 'a method introduced in Italy in the '70s by Dr. Citterio, French physician and psychologist, who, thanks to the support of the National Association for the Italian Equestrian Rehabilitation (ANIRE) was able to spread, with success, the practice of riding in therapeutic purposes. The therapeutic riding, as practiced in the presence of qualified personnel has proven over the years that the human horse combination can give results very beneficial in people with diseases such as cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism, or even in diseases resulting from physical trauma as accidents of various kinds which require orthopedic rehabilitation programs. The hippotherapy is practiced in the indoor riding stables and equipped outdoor enclosures always and only in the presence of instructors and qualified doctors. The first phase of hippotherapy or even takes place prior to the ground and need to approach the patient to the horse and its environment, then you pass the practice called "hippotherapy itself" serves the patient of therapeutic exercises for learning to play with the horse and the medical team to assess the progression of exercises to be administered. The third phase is the "equestrian rehabilitation", in that the patient is already able to control the horse through their actions.
