Breed Fell

The Fell Pony is a native of the English counties of Cumberland and Westmorland. Very similar to the Friesian and Dales, which is related to horses, the Fell looks sturdy, compact head and small ears, rump massive, sloping, fine arts, fine flakes with round feet on the hocks, tail and mane thick. The coat is almost always uniform blackish color, stains of white fur are considered defects. Once used for farming and in mining, the Fell is now used as a carriage horse and saddle. Its harmonious and elegant gait, endurance and hard work and character make this a lively and friendly pony loved by adults and children.
